I'm on a roll!

Horrible Harry and the Dragon War is complete! This is cute book. I have to say I did like it more than the Holidaze. This packet is 11 pages. There is a comprehension page for each chapter, a story map, a character traits page and a comprehension test with answer key. You can find the packet at our TPT store. Ok what book to do next!!!!

Horrible Harry and the Holidaze

I have always wanted to go through my chapter books and create book reviews for them. The time is now! So far we have done Flat Stanley Christmas Surprise and both Horrible Harry Holiday books.  Here is what I have done for Horrible Harry and the Holidaze. IT IS FREE! The other two are for sale at our TPT store but this is a freebie. I plan to start working my way through all my chapter books. Most of them will be for sale in our store but we will continue to add freebies on here also!

The Snowman emergent reader

It seems like no matter how many books the school purchases there are never enough! Especially emergent readers that the kids will want to read. Then when I do find them I have a very hard time finding a readers response that can go with the book. I made this cute snowman reader that has a sight word page to practice the main sight word in the book. It also has a comprehension page that a student on this level will be able to complete. At our TPT store we have a pack that has three books; The Farm, The Circus and The Zoo. Each reader has sight word pages and a response page. There are 21 total pages in the pack. If you like The Snowman check out The Circus Pack at TPT.

Baby on the Way!

Well, it's been a secret from the blog world for awhile now, but Lauren has a "bun in the oven"! Big sister Elise is getting exciting. We will have another sweet girl around April 8. Here are some pictures of my growing belly. I regretted not taking pictures when I was pregnant with Elise. Hopefully I can stay on top of this throughout the pregnancy!=)

Flat Stanley's Christmas Adventure

Last year my class loved Flat Stanley. We read every Flat Stanley book we could get out hands on. Everytime a scholastic order form would come the kids would look to find Stanley and then inform me I needed to buy. I'm a sucker for books and especially when kids get excited about them so of course I bought everyone of them. So I figured we have to have Flat Stanley Christmas on here. The packet contains a readers response to go with each chapter and then a few activities for the whole book. There are a variety of topics such as inferring, character traits, story plot, summarizing, predicting and vocabulary.  I have a sample page to one of the chapters. If you like it go check out the rest of the packet at our TPT Store.

Polar Express Syllables

Today I had so many errands to run and two children in tow. We started out doing pretty well. We headed over to Target to get more Christmas lights, because you can never have enough, and that's when things went south! I decided to drive to the farthest Target from my house because they always have better stuff. I got the kids out and into the gigantic two seater basket and headed into the store. We walked in and after a few steps I stepped into a puddle of red juice, slipped and broke my favorite pair of flip flops! It was awful! I now had a broken shoe and could not finish shopping or I would have had to do it barefoot and did not feel like buying a pair of shoes for no reason. While all this was happening and no one that worked there seemed to concerned a very nice lady came over asked if I was OK and offered to buy me a new pair of shoes! It was so nice. She said, "It's Christmas can I please buy you a new pair of flip flops." Just another reminder why I love this time of year! For a stress reliever I came home and made an activity. Its a Polar Express Syllable sheet. I hope y'all kind find it useful! Happy holidays!
